Optimize Firefox 3

By default, Firefox runs fast enough. But you can amplify your browsing experience a little bit by modifying a few settings. Usually you have to optimize Firefox manually, but manually configuring - by typing about: config in the address bar and scroll through the page and setting or altering some options are little bit difficult and time consuming especially for the novice user.
FireTune is a free software application to easily optimize several configuration settings for Firefox. According to your specific computer speed and internet connection speed, FireTune will optimize several internal settings of Firefox for better performance

How to tell whether Firefox is faster after optimizing it
After installation, just follow these instructions:

* Clear the cache of Firefox from the Firefox settings dialog - this is very important!
* Before you optimize Firefox, navigate to http://www.numion.com/stopwatch/ and do a speed test on http://www.neowin.net
* The time needed to load the site completely will be displayed to you in the browser window. Write down the time
* Clear the cache of Firefox from the Firefox settings dialog again - this is very important!
* Start Firefox again, and repeat the speed test on http://www.neowin.net/
* Compare the displayed result with the result from the test before the optimization
* Repeat this three or more times

>>
Download FireTune
>>Requirements - Firefox v1.x / 2.x / 3.x.
>>OS: Windows 200 /XP/2003 (some system required VB6 run time to run it. Those files are usually pre-installed on Windows 2000/XP/2003. If you get an error message during startup, download and install VB runtime (http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/install/6/Win98Me/EN-US/VBRun60.exe)-

Tweak Up XP

Yet another under-utilized feature in Windows XP is the places bar - you know, the one on the left side of your save dialogs that shows more or less pointless shortcuts to things you can get at just as easily through the dropdown menu?

It’d be a nice timesaver if it were customizable.

Well, it is, and there are several ways to do it.

  1. The Registry: like so many other Windows tweaks, those who don’t mind a little text hacking can run regedit to makes some adjustments:Start -> Run -> regedit [enter]Now, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\comdlg32\

If there is no PlacesBar key, create it now - otherwise, go on.

You can create up to 5 string values under the PlacesBar key (starting with 0, of course).

  1. Group Policy Editor: Windows XP Pro only. GPedit will accomplish the same thing, and with a slightly nicer interface. Think of it as the compromise between option one and three.Start -> Run -> gpedit.msc

Now navigate to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Explorer -> Common Open File Dialog

Double click “Items Displayed in Places Bar” in the right pane.

The “Explain,” tab actually does give some good information about how to configure the settings. You can use absolute folder paths, UNC shares, or common Windows locations like “MyPictures.”

  2. Melloware Placesbar Editor: for those who’d rather just find a pretty, easy-to-use tool for doing this, check out Freeware Genius’ writeup of this utility. It’s much more visual and gives you the option to test your new settings before applying them, which is a pretty cool trick. Obviously the regedit method will require a reboot to accomplish that, which is a little annoying.

install Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) in Ubuntu 7.10

This guide covers the installation of Apache, MySQL, and PHP on Ubuntu 7.10 (More commonly referred to as LAMP, or Linux Apache MySQL PHP). Optionally, you can also install phpMyAdmin as a front end for MySQL. We assume that you already have Ubuntu 7.10 running on the machine as well. That said, let's get right into it. The first thing we're going to do is open up a terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal).

Installing Apache

Now we can get started installing. This will take a few minutes, so grab a beer (or your favorite beverage,) and off we go. To install Apache, type or paste this into your terminal:

sudo apt-get install apache2

Testing Apache

Once apache2 is done installing, you can go ahead and test it by using:

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 start

If you get a message that it's already running, you're good to go. Now, open up your browser and navigate to:

http://localhost
.

You should see a page just like this. As long as you do, we're ready to install PHP.

Installing PHP

Again, to install PHP, type or paste this into your terminal:

sudo apt-get install php5 libapache2-mod-php5

Once it's finished installing, restart apache, using:

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Testing PHP

Now, let's make sure that PHP is working properly. To do this, we're going to run phpinfo(). You can, of course, swap out gedit with your editor of choice.

sudo gedit /var/www/phpinfo.php

Type or paste the following into the document, and save it. (remove the space before the '?php')

< ?php phpinfo(); ?>

Now we can test PHP by browsing to:

http://localhost/phpinfo.php

You should see all of the info about your PHP installation listed on the page, like so. For security reasons, you should remove this page when you're sure that PHP works.

Installing MySQL

Now we can conquer MySQL

sudo apt-get install mysql-server

As MySQL is installing, it will ask you to configure your root password. Make sure that you type it correctly, as it will only ask you once.

Testing MySQL

After that is finished, you can test MySQL by running this, where zzzz is your password

mysql -uroot -pzzzz

If it brings you to a MySQL prompt, you're done! You can type exit to get out of MySQL.

Installing phpMyAdmin

Now, if you want to install phpMyAdmin to have a front end for MySQL, you can use the following

sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql phpmyadmin

It will ask you to choose a webserver to configure automatically, you can use the space bar to select Apache2. And after that's finished, restart one last time.

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Finished!

Now you have your own LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) server, with phpMyAdmin.

Useful Commands and Default Locations

To Save yourself some time, you can make launchers for Apache or MySQL start, stop, and restart if you feel the need.

Apache

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 start

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 stop

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

MySQL

sudo /etc/init.d/mysql start

sudo /etc/init.d/mysql stop

sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart

Locations

/var/www/ -- Document Root

http://localhost/phpmyadmin -- phpMyAdmin

/usr/share -- phpMyAdmin local location

Increase Your Wi-Fi Signal

Currently my office is located in a duplex building (concrete floors) that houses several shops, storage areas, a restaurant and other office space. I am using a Netgear DG834 router for my wireless internet access, but have been having problems with it.

Basically the router seems to have issues with the floors and walls. As I am involved with several projects I am needed in different parts of the building, so having my laptop and an internet connection is essential. The problem is, the Netgear DG834 signals dies outside a 20 meter radius. That sounds crazy, but it’s true. I guess it just doesn’t like our steel-reinforced concrete floors and all the shop rails.

So, I have fiddled about with the router and have come up with a few ways of boosting the WiFi signal. Some of these are worth trying, some of them are obviously not going to look very professional.

  1. Strategic positioning - Say you want to cover a floor with WiFi. There’s no point having your wireless access point in the corner of the room because the area that it can then distribute a signal to is much reduced. Instead, plan out where you want to cover and work out where the best place is to station your router. If you have a nice big open, flat office space then I would recommend setting up the router in the middle of the floor. This way the omni-directional antenna (an type of antenna that radiates the signal) can distribute more evenly over a greater area. In a duplex situation, placing the router on a ceiling in the middle of the building is a good way to radiate the signal further and stronger.
  2. Mount the router on the wall - My WiFi coverage was at it’s worst when I had my router sitting at the back of my desk. If you want to boost the signal, a cheap and easy way to do so is to simply wall-mount the thing. This will increase the distance between it and all the possible interference around your computer.
  3. Buy an antenna - There are a multitude of booster antennas on the market at very reasonable prices. The idea is that you plug them into your router then direct the signal in a certain direction, in my case, up through the floor to where I needed more coverage. Try using a high gain (gain is the measure of how well the signal is focussed) directional antenna to increase the range and strength of a network in the direction pointed.
  4. Add extra access points - One of the ways that really helped boost my WiFi signal was by adding an extra access point in the upper floor of the building. I chose the Airport Express from Apple, but then I am a bit of an Apple geek … so what else could I do? The Airport Express also allows you to hook up to a Hi-Fi and stream songs to it from iTunes, as well as being able to hook up to a USB printer.
  5. Try a repeater - If you don’t want to spend on an extra access point, then try a repeater. What a repeater does is receive the WiFi signal, then repeat it, hence the name. But it means that the repeater must be inside the range of the WiFi network, otherwise it won’t receive a signal in the first place. Linksys, Netgear and Belkin all make repeaters, and they’re typically quite affordable. The added extra is that they do not require an extra cabling as they receive the signal wirelessly, instead of via an Ethernet cable.
  6. Add a powerline extender - Netgear now have a range of powerline extenders that send a signal via a powerline, instead of over an Ethernet cable. Plug one into your router and another into a power socket in a poorly covered area, set it up and away you go. Just be sure that you are all on the same circuit, otherwise it will not work.

And now for some of the more wacky / DIY options.

  1. Homemade Pringles antenna - Eat a packet of Pringles (ready salted would be my choice) then follow this tutorial to convert it into a functioning directional antenna. Point it where you need a signal boost.
  2. Airport Express & kitchen sieve - Take an Airport Express and set it into a common metallic kitchen sieve to boost it’s signal further.
  3. Try a parabolic dish - Hawking make a 802.11 B/G parabolic dish that basically pulls in a WiFi signal, performs some magic and boosts your range by up to 300%! It only costs $80 and it has a cool retro style.
  4. Cantenna - This is basically a pro version of the Pringles tin hack. For $50 you can buy a Cantenna that plugs into your router and extends your WiFi signal. It also looks cool.

There are two ways to do this:

1. WinXP scheduler

In a MSDOS box (You get it by typing "cmd" in the START & RUN links).
Once in the black CMD window you can type > AT ? or AT help
This will show you the help on how to use AT command.
But this is not a good option.

2. uTorrent scheduler
This is the best option.
You go to the scheduler option via:

Preference => Scheduler

There you have to check the "Enable Scheduler" box.
Below it you have 7 sets of 24 "green" boxes.
Each of the 7 rows corresponds to a day from Monday to Sunday.

Each of the boxes corresponds for an hourly time line, starting from 00 am to 11 PM (or 0:00 h to 23:00 h.

By default they are green => which means "Full Speed Seed"

In your case if you want to seed from 2 am to 8 am daily :

Click in the 3rd to 8th box till it is green and turn the rest to White. (See Screenshot below).

You can adjust the UL & DL speed there too.
This will do the job lots smarter for you .

By default you will have to leave your PC ON for this.

There is also an option to start utorrent automatically when your PC boots up:

In uTorrent "Preferences":
=> General Window
- At the bottom of the pane you will see "Windows Integration".
Check the "Start uTorrent On System Startup".

It will start and DL or UL any torrents that was in it the last time you closed it.

You can also program the BIOS setup and set in the CMOS the time at which you want your PC to boot UP.
This is available in most today's PC. Check the document that comes with your PC or Motherboard for seting this Option.

Hope this helps.

Don't you feel like crying every time you add another disc to your pile of scratched discs. Trashing that disc which contained your favorite songs, pics, files, games or videos is not easy.

Read-on, if you find yourself wishing for a miracle every time your fav CD is scratched:

Home Remedy :

Here's an easy home remedy, which might give you the desired results. Rub a small amount of toothpaste on the scratch and polish the CD with a soft cloth and any petroleum-based polishing solution (like clear shoe polish). Squirt a drop of Brasso and wipe it with a clean cloth.

Technology To The Rescue :

There are many softwares available on the net, which enable the recovery of the CD data. BadCopy Pro is one such software, which can be used to recover destroyed data and files from a range of media.

Just a few clicks is all it requires to recover the disc from almost all kind of damage situation; be it corrupted, lost data, unreadable or defective.

DiskDoctors is another popular company, which offers both software and solutions to recover data from a scratched CDs and DVDs.

General Tips:

* Always wipe the CD from the center outward with stratight spoke-like strokes. Wiping CDs in circles will create more scratches.

* Do not scratch the graphics layer as you cannot repair the disc.
HINT: Hold the disc up to a light with the graphics layer facing the light source. If you can see light thru the scratches at any point then the disc may be irreparable and or exhibit loading or playing errors.

* Clean your Disc players lens regularly with a suitable product to ensure optimal viewing pleasure.

* Make sure to use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean both sides of the disc. Wipe in a straight line from the centre of the disc to the outer edge.

* If wiping with a cloth does not remove a fingerprint or smudge, use a specialized DVD disc polishing spray to clean the disc.

* Only handle the disc by its outer edge and the empty hole in the middle. This will help prevent fingerprints, smudges or scratches.

Statistics:

* Fingermarks/prints cause 43% of disc problems!
* General wear & tear causes 25% of disc problems!
* Player-related issues cause 15% of disc problems!
* User-related issues cause 12% of disc problems!
* PlayStation 2 machine scratches cause 3% of disc problems!
* Laser rot (a manufacturer error) causes 2% of disc problems!

How to crack protected DVDs

This rip process should be done before you attempt to make a DVD-Rip (XviD, DivX, x264) or CCE jobs, otherwise
there may be problems with your rip. e.g. out of sync, start & end is wrong, bits missing etc etc.
There are other tools for the job but this one I found to be the most updated & free.

Rip the DVD using RipIt4Me

You will also need the following:

DVD Decrypter

DVD Shrink

Install DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter and then RipIt4Me.

Start RipIt4Me and make sure the following settings are match as below.

Then just insert the DVD and click on 1-Click mode.

Select the drive if you have more than one and hit next.

After its finished ripping the DVD, RipIt4Me will run FixVTS and finally it will open the movie in DVD Shrink.

Close DVD Shrink.

Joining avi files

VirtualDub-You need this excellent tool to join two AVI files together.
Pls google for the download link!

Note: This will not work for files that have different framerates, codecs or resolutions. The idea is that we will add the two files together quickly without having to do any re-encoding.

Step. 1 - File --> Open Video File

Launch VirtualDub and open the first AVI file in the sequence of videos you want to join by selecting File--> Open video file.
Step. 2 - Open First AVI file

Find the first AVI file, select it and then click Open. You will now see it open in VirtualDUB. If the program says it's unable to locate a decompressor, then you will have to find the appropriate codec. I recommend you install FFDShow.

Step. 3 - Scroll to the end of the file

Drag the slider straight to the end of the video stream. Make sure it is set on the very last frame.

Step. 4 - File --> Append AVI Segment

Now after you have made sure the last frame is selected, click File --> Append AVI Segment and the File Browser will pop up again.

Step. 5 - Open Second AVI file

Locate the second AVI file, select it and click Open, the second file should now be added to the end of the first file. Now this is where you will get problems if you have file with separate framerates, resolutions or codecs.

Step. 6 - Video --> Direct Stream Copy

Now we have to make sure that you don't end up with decompressed Video (which would probably result in a file 100's of GB's in size). Click Video --> Direct Stream Copy. This is very important, do not forget this.!

Step. 7 - Audio --> Direct Stream Copy

Just as we had to with Video, we just have to make sure that you won't wind up with uncompressed Audio (LPCM). Click Audio --> Direct Stream Copy. This is very important, do not forget this!

Step. 8 - File --> Save As AVI

Now you are ready to save an AVI file. Click File --> Save As AVI, select where you want to save a new AVI file and then it will only take a few minutes at most to save it.

Finally

Hopefully this will have helped you to join two AVI files together. If you have any problems or questions, please post it..

combine 2 full dvd's in one

Starting with v 3.0 DvdReMake can be used to combine 2 full dvds (DvdReMake Pro - 4 dvds) together so that they can be burned on one dvd disk. This means FULL - keeping original menus, languages, everything.

Procedure is completely automated, you simply import disks you would like to merge, go to "Tools\Merge DVD..." menu and select projects to be merged. As a result you will get a new project. Export it and you have two disks merged to one DVD.

When played this disk will show a start up menu asking what disk you would like to go to; after that selected disk will play as if it is the only one on the DVD. At any time during playback pushing "title menu" on the remote will take you to this start up menu.
Why?

Why would one want to put two (and more) full DVDs on one disk? Well, there could be plenty of reasons. This guide is based on one of them.

There were two DVDs made out of footage shot during vacations. Those were different trips with more then a year interval between them, so quite naturally they ended up on different DVDs. Another year latter, during one of the family "get-togethers", relatives found these disks and decided that they must have it as well. Why not?

But original disks were quite small, about 2Gb, and they both would fit nicely to one DVD. There was no point in wasting blanks so DvdReMake Pro was used to merge them.

Step-by-step description of the procedure

Disks are ripped to the hard drive and imported into DvdReMake (Pro). Importing dialog title "Select directory for DVD import" can be somewhat confusing. It is necessary to get into folder with files you want to import and then push "Select".

Once disks are imported go to "Tools/Merge DVDs?" ?

? and select projects you want to merge:

Hit "Merge" and in few seconds project with merged disk is ready:

That is it, you can export now.

Whole thing took less than 30 seconds to import and merge disks and about 15 minutes to export merged project. You can burn it now with your favorite DVD burning application. .Don't forget to subscribe

Make Ringtones

I will try to go step by step and post screenshots along every step,so it would be easier for new members to follow....

Hopefully, this could be some kind of help to you guys!!!

Step 1 - Power Mp3 cutter :

It's a VERY easy software to use, from which u can cut ur favorite part from ur song!!! It's also very small in size!!!

First of all,drag & drop ur mp3 file in it,than set a begin and an end and you will end up having ur favorite segment....{see screenshots}

1-Setting a begin:

2 - Setting an end:

3 - Processing:

PS1 : Don't try to directly convert it into .wav format becoz there is no specifications in this application for this, you will end up with a large file size!!

PS2 : As you can see, I left the bitrates "same as source file" ,but you can adjust the bitrates (which will result in a small file size)!!you have to check which bitrates suites ur mobile the most!!

4 - Favorite Part/Segment:

PS1 : As you can see , i ended up with a segment with 28 seconds long...choose the duration you want, but no one needs a tone with a length more than 50 secs!!!

PS2 : I advise to tick the "fade out" effect ,it will give a better end for ur tone.

PS3 : For users who uses mp3 format as ringtone,i guess the job ends here...all you have to do is to send it to ur mobile!!

Step 2 - Fairstars Audio Converter:

Also an easy & friendly application to use, which will allow you to convert ur favorite segment mentioned above to wav. format!!!

Open the application and drag & drop ur segment into it....

You will see the specifications of ur segment (mp3) & its file size,just select "convert to wav" {See screenshots}

1 - Input:

2 - Bitrates Specifications:

After inputting the segment & selecting wav, just go to "options" than "wav" and modify the bitrates for ur wav file!!

PS1 :Follow the exact specifications as in the screenshot :

1-Channel: Mono
2-Bits per sample: 8 bits
3-Sampling Rate: 22050Hz

PS2 : Using these specifications, you will end up with a lound volume for ur tone with a 95 % clear sound, and most of all a small wav file size!!!!
You can control the volume of the tone by lowering the "sampling rate" ,but don't try to make it any higher (more than 22050 hz) else you will end up with a distored sound file!!!!

3 - Conversion:

4 - Stereo mode & Bitrates:

Some users just don't mind the size nor the volume and prefer a 100% clear sound file!!

To this you will have to change the specifications as follow:

1-Channel: Stereo
2-Bits per sample:16bits
3-Sampling rate: 16000 Hz

Using these specifications, you will end with an excellent sound clarity & a good sound volume, but a larger file size!!!!

PS1 : Adjusting the "bits per sample" to 8 bits will also reduce the file size!!

See Screenshots

5 - File size:

See for exemple the file size of the new converted wav segment (mono mode)

Note: this size could be even smaller, coz in here i didn't change the bitrates of the mp3 file while cutting it, i left it as 128kbps!!!

Step 3 - Goldwave: {optional}

Also an easy to use program!!!
Some of you, after doing all the steps mentioned above, may not be satisfied from the volume,clarity...etc of their new wav file!!!
Here is where you have to use this program and modify some stuff in ur wav file to get the best results!!!!

1 - Initiation & Hotkeys:

I guess the screenshot explains everything, and as you can see there is some Hotkeys in this application which we r going to use!!!

2 - 3 steps for a better sound:

( A ) - Noise Reduction:

As you can see,we can reduce the noise in the wav file, and there is many noise types!! i have marked the main noises that a wav file could suffer from....just intiate the adjustements and than press preview "play icon" ,if satified than all you have to do is apply them!!!

( B ) - Silence reduction:

Same as before, you can reduce the silence in ur wav file...preview than apply!!!

( C ) - Change volume:

Same as before, the option explains itself...it's for volume editting!!!
Many users asks about this, i have marked the most common volume options you could use....also preview than apply!!

Note: I advise not to amplify the volume a lot, else you will end up with some ditortions in ur file!! the 150 % is the most suitable!!!

Vso Software's DivXToDVD is yet another simple to use program that can convert your DivX/XviD files (as well as some other formats) to a DVD video disc which you can view using your standalone player. What makes it different than other competitors in the same program category is that it's by far the most simple one (select source file, destination file and click start!) as well as the faster one (the only program in this category that can claim to be faster is WinAVI).

Also its big advantage is that it's free, so you can just download the full version from our downloads section here. Unfortunately 0.5 is the latest free version, as Vso Software has decided to add many new features and make DivXToDVD a commercial program. However this free version is still available and will always be, and when the paid one comes out we'll be the first to write a guide and review it so that you'll know if it's worth it to upgrade.

Until then, enjoy this nice free version and the guide below!

This is the main (and only!) window of DivXToDVD that contains all the settings that need to be set in order to start your conversion. Lets take a closer look to them.
First of all you need to select the movie you want to convert by click the first folder-like icon (1). You can select as many video files as you want and they will be converted to DVD in order of selection. After you select the source files, you need to set the destination folder (2). Make sure there are more than 5GB free in the hard disk you are going to use.
Now if you are sure for the aspect (3) and the standard - format (4) of the files you are converting you can try selecting them to be sure, but usually automatic works just fine. If you have CopyToDVD installed it would be a good idea to select "Burn with CopyToDVD" so that it burns your DVD right after the conversion has finished.
CopyToDVD is a nice DVD burning tool from Vso Software. You can have a look at its guide here. If you don't have a burning tool you can consider it an excellent and cheap choice that will burn quality DVD and CD discs. If you use another DVD burning program instead, just leave this option blank.
Now everything should be set, so you can click Convert (6) for the conversion to start.

This is how DivXToDVD will look after the conversion starts. As stated before, the conversion speed is excellent. For a 2 hour movie, it needed a little more than 50 minutes to convert. As we have selected Burn with CopyToDVD after the conversion is complete the burning process starts.

CopyToDVD will ask you to select the right burner (if you have more than one in your system). Do so, then put a blank media inside, and the burning starts! A few minutes later your new DVD video disc is ready!

The biggest advantage DivXToDVD has is the amazing conversion speed. In most cases an hour will be enough to turn an AVI file into a DVD video disc, a process that with other programs can take more than 3-4 hours. (with the exception of WinAVI, as we already said, which is as fast as DivXToDVD). Also it's very simple, something positive for newbies. However many users would like more features (like DVD menus, custom chapters, double pass). I guess that the first commercial version will be much improved, but until that happens download and try this free one, you won't lose!.Don't forget to subscribe

4) This is for watching on your 15'', 17'' or 19'' computer moniters.

5) A 2 hr movie can be encoded to around 350-390 mb.

When should you do this

1) When you are running out of harddisk space.

2) When you are trying to make a large collection of movies. ( A dvd can hold 12 such movies)

What hardware plays this

1) PC (VLC player or Media Player Classic, I recommend VLC player)

2) PS3

What hardware does not play this

1) Ipod

2) PSP

3) Normal dvd players, DivX supported dvd players

Here are the screens of the encoded video

source : Heroes------350 mb, 1018 kbps bitrate, 624x352 resolution

output : Heroes------175 mb, 500 kbps bitrate, 624x352 resolution

Screens when stretched to full screen on my 17'' moniter

source : Heroes------350 mb, 1018 kbps bitrate, 624x352 resolution, screen resoultion : 1024x768

output : Heroes------175 mb, 500 kbps bitrate, 624x352 resolution, screen resoultion : 1024x768

Step 1

There are a lot of encoding softwares, but all of them are just user
interfaces. The quality of the rip depends on the codecs and the
settings you use. I have tried many of them and i recommend you all to
use Mediacoder since it is simple and easy to use and its free.

http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/dlfull.htm

downlaod and install.

Step 2

Add the movie and choose audio tab.

set everything as shown in the image

choose CT AAC+ on the right tab and set the bitrate to 64 kbps and mode as stereo

Copy enc_aacplus.dll and nscrt.dll from plugins folder in Winamp installation folder to codecs folder in MediaCoder folder

Step 3

choose video tab

set

mode : 2 pass

format : h264

container : mp4

backend : x264

bitrate : This is what determines the quality. Any thing between 400 to
500 will give a descent output. Click on summary tab to see the
expected file size. Make the change in bitrate accordingly.

Step 4

choose picture tab

resize : set it to original as shown in the image if your source is a
700mb or a 1.4gb movie. If the source a 720p or 1080p or any other high
resolution bring it down to about 576x320 (16:9). Make sure u keep the
ratio same while bringing down the resolution.

crop : crop the image if the source is out of crop, or else just disable it

framerate : set it to 23.976

Step 5

Click on summary tab to see the estimated file size. If it is too less
then increase the video bitrate, or else decrease it if the size is too
big.

Step 6

Choose the output folder and click on start.

Step 7

You are done

The better the source the better will be your rip. A 720p source gives
a better rip than a 700 mb source. A source with a bitrate of over 1000
kbps will give a good rip.
